Joshua Liner Gallery was pleased to partner with David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption to present the New York City premiere of Psychogenic Fugue, a photographic series by acclaimed artist Sandro Miller. On view from May 16 through May 19, 2019, the exhibition marked the first public showing of this body of work in New York and coincided with the Festival of Disruption on May 17.

Psychogenic Fugue features a series of large-format photographs of John Malkovich, Miller’s longtime collaborator, inhabiting some of David Lynch’s most iconic characters. The work reimagines familiar figures from Lynch’s film and television universe through a surreal and transformative lens, highlighting themes of identity, memory, and performance. The exhibition also served as a fundraiser in support of the Foundation’s mission.

Founded by David Lynch in 2005, the David Lynch Foundation is dedicated to bringing the evidence-based practice of Transcendental Meditation to underserved and at-risk populations, including veterans with PTSD, survivors of domestic violence, inner-city youth, and individuals recovering from addiction. Proceeds from the exhibition directly contributed to the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote healing, resilience, and inner transformation through meditation.
