Wayne White I'M HAVING A DIALOGUE WITH THE UNIVERSE AND YOU'RE JUST SITTING THERE
His second solo exhibition with Joshua Liner Gallery. On view from September 8 through October 8, 2016, the show presented a full range of White’s multidisciplinary practice, including kinetic sculpture, large-scale murals, word paintings, works on paper, and a site-specific wallpaper installation. With his trademark blend of humor and formal precision, White used bold typographic interventions across vintage lithographs to satirize ego, vanity, and the mythos of the artist. This body of work also referenced Surrealist and Dadaist influences while incorporating nostalgia for White’s Southern upbringing.
