Felipe Pantone Transformable Systems
Transformable Systems marked Felipe Pantone’s inaugural solo exhibition at Joshua Liner Gallery, on view from September 6 to October 13, 2018. The exhibition brought together works from both new and ongoing series, showcasing Pantone’s signature fusion of vibrant color gradients, sharp optical patterns, and technological motifs. Exploring themes of digital culture, speed, and impermanence, Pantone employed mechanical and manual techniques to create immersive, futuristic compositions.
Highlights included the Chromadynamica, Subtractive Variability, and Optichromie series, each investigating the tension between analog craft and digital aesthetics, while encouraging viewer interaction through kinetic elements and shifting perspectives.
Born in Argentina and based in Valencia, Spain, Felipe Pantone has earned international recognition for his electrified style rooted in Op Art and Kinetic Art traditions. Drawing inspiration from artists like Victor Vasarely, Jesús Rafael Soto, and Carlos Cruz-Diez, Pantone’s work reimagines color, motion, and information through a lens of digital immediacy. His murals and installations can be found worldwide, with major commissions including Facebook HQ (CA), Hard Rock Stadium (FL), and Palms Casino Resort (NV). Pantone’s work has been exhibited at leading institutions such as the Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Long Beach Museum of Art (CA), and Mesa Contemporary Arts Center (AZ), bridging fine art with digital innovation.
