Kuksi Hallucinatory Enhancements
Hallucinatory Enhancements marked Kris Kuksi’s sixth and most expansive solo exhibition with Joshua Liner Gallery, on view from October 12 to November 11, 2017. Featuring intricate mixed-media assemblages, the show drew from baroque and rococo aesthetics to explore themes of power, chaos, and transformation. Each densely layered work combined elements of religion, war, sex, and culture, creating surreal, symbolic worlds that challenge historical narratives and invite deeply personal, hallucinatory interpretations.
Kris Kuksi was born in 1973 in Springfield, Missouri, and earned both his BFA and MFA from Fort Hays State University. Known for his meticulous, architectural assemblages, Kuksi has exhibited internationally, including solo shows at Joshua Liner Gallery and group exhibitions at Halle Saint Pierre (Paris), SHOWstudio (London), and the Museum HR Giger (Switzerland). He currently lives and works in Hays, Kansas.
