Hilary Pecis New Paintings

New Paintings marked Hilary Pecis’ first solo exhibition with Joshua Liner Gallery and her New York debut. The show featured a series of acrylic works that drew from the artist’s personal memories and everyday surroundings—still lifes, interiors, and landscapes that honored the traditions of painting while exploring perspective, color, and form. Each piece served as both a snapshot and a painterly investigation, turning ordinary moments into vivid, carefully constructed compositions.

Hilary Pecis received her BFA and MFA from California College of the Arts in San Francisco before relocating to Los Angeles, a move that shifted her focus toward depicting her immediate environment. Her work has been exhibited widely in solo and group shows across the U.S. and internationally, including exhibitions at Guerrero Gallery, Halsey McKay, Charlie James Gallery, and V1 in Copenhagen. Pecis’ precise brushwork, inventive use of space, and dedication to painting as a medium position her as a fresh voice in contemporary abstraction.
