Serena Mitnik Miller In Between

INBETWEEN presents a series of watercolor paintings by San Francisco–based artist Serena Mitnik-Miller, exploring repetition, pattern, and balance through a refined yet intuitive approach. Working without tape or stencils, Mitnik-Miller manipulates the fluidity of watercolor into precise geometric and linear compositions, emphasizing both form and negative space. The works reflect a calm, meditative process and a deep connection to the natural environment, where discipline and freeform expression coexist.

Serena Mitnik-Miller (b. 1981, Massachusetts) lives and works in San Francisco, California. She received her BA in Photography and Printmaking from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she was an Irwin Scholar. Mitnik-Miller is known for her minimalist watercolor practice, which balances exacting structure with organic variation and is informed by her longstanding relationship with nature.
